Mr Ayuk Michael Tabe-Ebob

 (President 1988-1998)

The Afab Development Association known by its acronym ADA, has as a sole objective the development of Afab in all its facets. It was founded in 1972. Its inaugural meeting took place at the Authentic Hotel in Kumba owned by the business lady Mrs. Niger Thomas.

The brains behind the formation of ADA were stalwarts such as John Ntui Agbor who worked with the Dept. of P&T and later as a veteran Trade Unionist, Sylvester Etikang Tabe-Ebob, a research worker with Dr. AC Callaway at the University of  Nigeria Ife, and later a freelance Journalist who unsuccessfully tried to depose Chief B.T. Ayuk from the Afab Chieftaincy Stool, Samuel Ojong Tabe-Ebob of  the CDC Marines, Ben Egbe-Nchombi of Victoria General Hospital, Thomas Bisong and Elias Abey whose fathers were from Ebinsi and Mbakang respectively but whose mothers were Afabians, and a host of others.

The birth of ADA was declared and the first Executive Committee was elected comprising principally of Mr. J.N. Agbor as president Mr. Samuel Ojong Tabe-Ebob as  vice president and Mr. Elias Abey as Secretary. A decision for the creation of ADA branches in the main towns was reached and the holding of rotative ADA General Meetings.
